With so many people spamming and sending email after email after email, many people are hesitant to give out their email addresses, let alone their mailing address or phone number. People are, in fact changing their email addresses because their mailboxes are being flooded with advertisements, emails, and worthless material.
There are different levels of lead capturing or ways of owning the customer. The approach you take depends on your personality. Whether your approach is a slick and smooth one or forceful and aggressive, the end result is to capture a lead.
When you think about attracting a customer, do you think about lead capturing? If you don't you should. Your goal should be to "own the customer," make them want you -- what you have to offer, and entice them into providing you with all of their information.

Who wouldn't?
If you want to build your online business, a lead capture page can be worth big bucks in the long-term. It is not uncommon to earn $1 or more every month for everyone on their mailing list. While $1 can't buy you much of anything, imagine if you have 1,000 people on your list -- 2,000, or even 10,000. When you look at if from that perspective, $1 a month per person, is not bad.
Creating a Lead Page
It's not hard to create a lead page. You want to provide your potential customer with something that will benefit them -- something to make them want to give you their information. As the saying goes in the internet biz, "Content is king," this is where you want to identify with their problem, relate to it, and provide a solution. Once you have their email address, you want to keep them coming back by offering quality products that they are interested in.
Once you have starting building your network of people, this becomes your foundation for your business. The key is "quality" not "quantity."
