Hemorrhoids are just swollen veins that are found in the lower portion of the rectum and the anus. The painful hemorrhoids arise as a result of swelling of the weaken vessel walls due to straining or increased pressure in the areas during bowel movements or other physical activities. Hemorrhoids are of two types depending on their locations within the recto-anal region.
Internal hemorrhoids usually are swollen vessels that filled the walls inside the rectum while the external hemorrhoids are those that are outside the anus. Inflamed external hemorrhoids are very painful. Internal hemorrhoids being inside the rectum are usually painless and you will only know of their presence when the stool becomes stained with bright red blood. However the internal hemorrhoids can protrude out of the anus and thus becomes very painful. These are called the prolapsed hemorrhoids. To treat these painful hemorrhoids, you can make use of home remedies which are very effective. These include the following:
1. Ensure that you practise good dietary habits. This means that you must have a balanced diet consisting of fibers that are found in fruits and vegetables. The fibers will ensue that the stools are consistently produced and thus will minimize straining during bowel movement. It has to be realized that straining during bowel movement will increase the pressure on the hemorrhoids thus resulting in burst and painful hemorrhoids.
2. Stool softeners can be used if despite eating fibers, you still have constipation. It can help to a certain extent but if you have hemorrhoids, inflammation and infection may arise.
3. You can treat hemorrhoids by using sitz bath where you sit in a few inches of warm water at least three times daily for about fifteen minutes to decrease the inflammation.
4. You are also advised to consume Vitamin C 1000mg tablet daily. This will strengthen the vein walls in the long run. The preparation should also contain hesperidin and rutin and bioflavoids as these ingredients will help to shrink the hemorrhoids. Many of my customers have found Vitamin C to be very effective. Adding Omega 3 1000mg capsule to the supplement will reduce the inflammation while taking a daily tablet of a multi vitamins and minerals will ensure consistent stools as well as nourishing the cells of the alimentary system.
At the end of the day, the use of these home remedies will eventually result in the disappearance of the painful hemorrhoids.
