Our world is a place very rich in colors. The clear skies and the sea are always associated with the color blue; green reminds us of playing in the grass; red is the color for blood and it associated with the intensity of love. Places which are forbidden to us are usually marked with red. Distinguishing colors is very useful for us, especially when driving. Persons with difficulties in the recognition of colors sometimes feel disabled.

In the outside world colors are supposed to have a violent impact on us, to draw our attention toward commercials or traffic signs, but when we get home we expect to find a relaxing and soothing environment. As decorators of our own homes we are free to choose the colors we want to find around us. Nevertheless remember that buying a red dress is not the same with painting your home red. It is known that while a red dress gives you self-confidence, spending a few hours in a red room makes you agitated.

It is advisable to do some research of your own before choosing your paint colors, on the way colors influence our mood when we are exposed to them several hours. The color most of the people consider as being very relaxing to the human eye is green or dark green. Green reminds us of nature with all its abundance of plants. Even if white is the absence of color, it is also considered to be eyes-friendly, because scientists noticed that people living in white rooms are calm and rarely have headaches.

Bright yellow, orange or red are not the best choice for your office or your bedroom. But in situations where we spend little time in such a room we observe that they have an awakening effect, making us more active. Besides these colors an emulsion with sharp smell is likely to trigger headaches, too.

So, when it comes to painting an office, a bedroom or any other room where you spend several hours a day you should think about colors which wont fatigue your eyes. This doesnt limit your choices because there are many catalogs and even paint samples with different hues.
