Painting And Its Real Meaning

Painting can be considered as one of the oldest forms of art

. It was present long ago when man started to walk the earth. Paintings are categorized under fine art. Fine Art is derived from the French term beaux arts meaning that it has come and originated from France. Paintings are great examples of this not to mention the other forms of fine art such as sculptures, photography, drawings, music and opera.

This article will focus the relationship of art to painting. How painting can be considered as fine art.

Art is simply related to beauty and beauty as what the famous saying is in the eye of the beholder. A thing considered beautiful can also tantamount that it is fine art. To appreciate something that is of beauty can be a skill.

A painting of a family who sits together in a sofa, laughing and smiling is considered by some as beauty. Beautiful in the sense that it brings to them the feel of happiness like what the painting is portraying. But still, it is not considered as fine art. Why? Because it is just a simple and straight-forward painting of a family. It lacks the essence of being special and also it cannot grab attention to its audience unless it is the only painting exhibited. It is considered as so shallow and does not require the audience to think.

Having read the example above, not all things can be considered as fine art. Fine art must be unusual, meaningful, and thought-provoking and portrays a feeling with justification.

A famous painter named Vincent van Gogh painted a chair, a fruit, a sunflower and the sky but yet they do not simply represent the object in its real state. He did not paint them as what he had seen. Van Gogh painted the objects with differently but yet you can still recognize it.

His style in painting is not usual. The style allows the painter to channel his feelings to the viewer or audience through his painting. Fine art in relation to painting is creating a painting that expresses the emotion of the painter towards the object.

Not all works can be considered fine art. Even though a simple painting can be of great meaning to someone as long as the painting can connect to the viewer with emotions. How the painting can attract the eyes and open the minds of the viewers is what the aim of fine art is. Just remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not all art can be considered as beautiful by all persons. As long as it means something to you it will bring you a sense of fulfillment to your work.
