Completing an apprenticeship is a good way of gaining experience that will help you in getting a job in the future. Another way of becoming a painter and decorator is by going to college and completing a course in the subject. This wont gain you as much practical experience as a working apprenticeship would however you will have the necessary qualifications which potential employers will recognise and appreciate that you have the knowledge and will know what you are doing.
