If youre like me, youre a guy who hates to shave and you hate the irritation and after burn even more

. I figure thats the majority of you! I wrote this post to put the spotlight on this one razor that does it all. No need to constantly go out and purchase those expensive Mach 5 blades locked behind their precious cases anymore.

The Panasonic ES8243a is an awesome rechargeable 4 blade electric razor. It features sleek looks and an ergonomic design that makes it a delight to use. Works great dry or wet, though I prefer to use a minimal amount of cream (or Lectric Shave) to facilitate the process. Youll even be able to see the all the time youll save when using the timer on its slick LED display

The Panasonic ES8243a is an unbeatable unit if youre looking for a shaver at just over a hundred bucks (or under if you find the right deal). Blades only need to be replaced annually and cost about $50. This is chump change in comparison to the cost of manual blades. If you want an effective, great looking shaver with all the features you need, theres nothing better for the price.

At first I was a little worried about accuracy around my sideburns given the suspension of the shave heads when making the switch from manual to electric. The heads can be locked to make this task quite simple though. You will get a great looking shave that holds up through the day and wont leave redness or irritation behind.

Depending on the contour of your face, you wont necessarily get a shave as close as your standard razor but for me, the convenience and lack of pain is totally worth it. One of my favorite aspects of the shave is the lack of that hair-pulling feel so many electrics give you.

Some people have found that when in operation the shaver may be a bit noisy. I would compare it to my Philips Sonicare toothbrush: very reasonable.

There is little vibration transfer from the shaver to your hand/face. Overall the razor is very effective at attacking thicker longer hair, even pesky neck hair. Since using it havent encountered the nasty in grown hairs I used to when using my Gillette Fusion. This was my main goal when making the switch.

The ES8243a is great when it comes to battery life. A full charge takes about an hour and youll get about 30-40 minutes of shaving time. If youre shaving everyday in quick 2-3 minute sessions, this will last you about a couple of weeks. Not bad in my humble opinion! The battery life is displayed on the LED screen as well so youll know when it needs another charge.

Cleaning is easy. No need for the charging/cleaning dock that Panasonic offers. Just run the shaver under some warm water while in operation and rub your fingers across the blade with some dish soap (as is customary for electric shavers). There is a clean mode that can be accessed by pushing down the power button for five seconds. This will run the shaver at a higher RPM for about 20 seconds to make cleaning a bit easier.
