I happen to now 2 years now and still visits my lamp instead. This is my film and watch the film several times a week. Very easy to install and use. Screen clear and little in the second year is pale, spare bulb so I just sits waiting for his chance to be installed. As for product image and user Tho, what really goes for $ 1K.

Solved My Flickering Problem
At about 450 hours the projector started to flicker erratically. It looked like the auto iris or light harmonizer was screwing up. I bought this from the Projector People and they told me that if burning in the unit doesn't solve the problem then I need to call Panasonic and they gave me the number. I called Panasonic and they told me to buy a new lamp first and see if that solved the problem. Well, while I was waiting for the new lamp I ran the projector for a whole weekend with the Winamp music visualtization running (quite trippy on a 125" screen in my one bedroom apartment) and I'm not sure when it stopped but the problem is gone. I had been running the projector for months in normal mode not eco mode so I thought it was already burned in. I guess the problem was that I had only been turning on the projector for 4 hour periods at the longest. I am an electrical engineer and I know this equipment needs to burn in I just didn't realize the length of time but come to think of it when Cleveland Browns Stadium first installed their changeable message signs they ran an intensely changing pattern for several weeks straight to burn in the electronics.
Well, I guess I have a back-up lamp now for when this one is used up.
By the way, I am looking at the completely white background of this website and there is not so mach as a blink. The projector is rock solid running on my laptop's 1080P HDMI output.

Essentially perfect
I had a Panasonic PT-AE900U that bit the dust after 3 1/2 years of constant (~4 hours a day) use, so I opted for this unit as a replacement, which is now 2 generations ahead of the PT-AE900U, which was pretty darn good by any measure. All I can say about this latest version is that it is indeed an improvement in every sense, at about 60% of the price I paid for the old one. Better in every way: Brighter, sharper, yet smoother and more film-like in its presentation. I was able to simply plug it in in place of my old one and it looks fabulous right out of the box. I don't see any need for adjustment. I watched 'Dark Knight' on Blu-ray as projected onto my Da-Lite Manual 106" Diagonal HDTV Format Home Theater Wall Screen with High Contrast Matte White Fabric (1.1 gain) and it looked just gorgeous. Excellent contrast and depth, color is perfect and the blacks are deep and no longer have the annoying "sheen" I was seeing on the older model.
There really is no reason whatsoever to spend 2x as much (or more) to go 1080P. The difference, even doing an A/B comparison, would be virtually unnoticeable. The only format that even has 1080P is Blu-ray, and I cannot imagine that it could look any better than presented by this unit, which accepts the 1080P signal and scales to 720P. High-def is high-def. Indeed, HDTV is all 720P, and ESPN prefers it to 1080P due to the fact that it's better for motion shots.
This unit is now available for less than ten Ben Franklins. At that price, it's insane not to buy one. You could buy one of these brand new every time the bulb burned out (2000 hours) several times in a row and still spend less than what one 1080P projector would set you back.
And did I mention the Game Mode? PS3 'Motorstorm Pacific Rift' and 'Grand Theft Auto IV' are just nuts with this unit! Have your pals over for some life-size gaming action and they may never leave!
So just buy it already!

Absolutely awesome projector (if you don't expect it to be much use during daylighht..) Superb picture, very quiet (but hot) - it is bulkier than our previous projector, but doesn't have that disturbing "optical flickr", it works perfectly with the XBox 360 - 2 HDMI inputs plus extras - we have 3 devices connected to it at all times. If it isn't mounted, it could act as a semi-portable TV in your home - we hook it up to our Macbook Pro's at night to watch DVD's and streaming TV from our Slingbox. Is awesome.
