No problem with black level in groups of 10 and V10-series Panasonic TV. Black level, which are about what they are announced. Only after 1000 hours of operation, level of black, drops considerably. The worst part problrm Panasonic knows about this and did nothing to correct. Email me my keys (Camcorder, DVD player, etc.) from Panasonic, but now I feel that this TV, the last thing I ever bought was from them ..

Outstanding television.
After viewing several makes and models of televisions at different stores this is one of the best ones I have seen, if not the best. The picture is outstanding. Colors are bright and vivid while the depth of the black level is really good. The contrast, sharpness, and color all seemed perfect right out of the box. The naturally higher refresh rate of the plasma set is an added plus. Being able to go directly to the internet for streaming movies through Amazon.com, viewing weather, stocks, or watching You-Tube is also a nice feature.
After viewing the new LED and LCD pictures, they appeared to be be overly bright and so sharp that the picture on the screen seems to be a series of pasted snapshots. The plasma set is more lifelike with a more three dimensional look. Sound quality is pretty good even when turned up to a loud level. The G-series line of plasmas by Panasonic is noticeably better than the other lines.
The price from Amazon with shipping included was the best price I could find anywhere at the time.
Delivery was quick and handled very well. The deliverymen unboxed the set after it was brought into the house and stayed until it was inspected.
All in all a fantastic plasma picture at a great price.

Read many reviews and talked to friends who know more than I do....in the end, decided on Panasonic 46" viera G-10 series. I have had another older 50 " panasonic for over 10 years without a single problem.And that tv gets used by a big family, for hours on end. So, like other reviewers, I trust panasonic. The quality of this new tv is superb. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting an upgrade.

Excellent picture, Excellent value
Can't beat this set for picture and price. The plasma black levels are awesome. Extremely realistic color. Required virtually no tweaks at startup, and out of the box setup was very easy. The THX-compliant setting is superb for movies. I just leave it on for everything. That is one feature not available on many models that I would recommend to anyone looking for a good HDTV. Only real drawback is the internal speakers, which are just mediocre (but that is the case with most all TVs). Basic Amazon shipping was great!

I did a lot of research before buying this set. My main criteria was that any TV I purchased have superior black levels and lots of inputs. This set did not disappoint. The picture is beautiful. An added and unexpected benefit was that it is able to accept sound inputs independent of the video which came in handy since my Dish Network HD receiver seems to be unable to send audio out over the HDMI cable. I just plugged the composite sound out from the receiver into the Viera and it worked perfectly. The TV also had Viera Cast, which are web apps that connect to various video websites. It seems rudimentary at the moment and Netflix is not on it.
I cannot tell you how happy I am with my purchase.

Nice features, great price, excellent TV
This is my first HD TV. I really wanted a decent TV with rich color and deep blacks. So I looked at Plasma's exclusively. Once the TV is set-up (a two person job to lift the TV onto the stand), it's a snap to use. The remote is laid out well and is large enough to get to the buttons. The screen is large and the bezel is small, so it takes up very little room. The screen is reflective, but I don't find it overly reflective. It is certainly no more reflective than my old standard definition TV. Reflection is more about light sources and positioning than screen, anyway. The Panasonic TV is located in a room with 2 small windows, 1 picture window, and one normal sized window. These window are adjacent or across from the set. We don't watch much TV in the daytime, but when we do, we don't find the reflections bothersome. At night when it is dark, we draw a light shade down and the image is fine. Don't worry about reflections.
The network utilities like wathching Youtube videos and streaming from Netflix and Amazon are nice and useful. While waiting for FiOS to be installed, watched some a streamed video. It was very clear. The wired Ethernet feature is nice to have. When paired with the Panasonic DMP-BD85K WiFi Enabled Blu-Ray Disc Player (Black), you get a complete HD system. I was amazed at the clarity the Blu-Ray player exhibited with standard definition DVD's.
The remote has some nice features. For example, if you are watching a standard definition show on 4:3 format, you can easily set the tv to that aspect and the show will look OK. Broadcast SD video doesn't look very good on this set. It's fuzzy. You do want to stick to HD where possible. Even 720P is worlds better than SD. Other formats fill the screen, and zoom in. You can change the display clicking the Format key. Easy. You can also find out what the input is by pressing Info which will tell you what the resolution is. That came in handy during set-up because my TiVo TCD748000 Premiere XL DVR (Black) wanted to display in 720P but was capable of 1080i. I noticed during FiOS set-up that the picture looked poor even though I was in HD. A check of the Info button told me why.
It's a good TV. It is too soon to tell if we will have a problem that others have mentioned with black levels. Some folks have recommended a 100 to 200 hour burn-in to let the TV automatically find it's black setting before manually adjusting. I find the default setting fine. I am not in a black theatre so I am not sure I would notice the difference anyway.

I received this TV yesterday two days ealier than it was scheduled...amazingly fast free shipping (ordered Sat, and received Wed). Like so many others have said, the picture is amazing. I am running bunny ears to pull local HD programming and it looks amazing. My old DVD progressive scan player also looks amazing. I've got a Roku in the mail from Amazon as well...and have gotten away from the cable guy except for internet service. Who needs it? Prime time sitcoms and sports and countless netflix movies and TV shows is all the TV I need in my life....more of a music guy. This TV looks as good or better than any TV I have ever seen anywhere....really happy with this purchase. Also, some people buy from big box overpriced stores because they don't like the idea of something this large being shipped to them. How do they think it got to the store? Also, have you TRIED to return anything to BB? Amazon's return policy is better anyways. Brick and mortar retail is dead within 10 years.
