Panasonic TX-P42G10B Review

It was always a pleasure doing reviews of recent Panasonic TVs

. This Panasonic TX-P42G10B review is no exception. The TV has an amazing NeoPDP plasma panel that enables the plasma cells to be twice as efficient with their luminous production. With this fantastic internal technology, the TV is able to produce bright and vibrant pictures with half the energy that the other non-NeoPDP predecessors use. These energy efficient plasma cells allow the viewer to have the same blinding brightness of a more expensive LCD television, but without using as much electricity.

While the design of this Panasonic isn't as slim as various other models in the same series, it still isn't considered to be bulky. The bezel frame surrounding the screen is very thin and coated in a glossy black finish; perfect for any decor.

Placed at the bottom of this classy, sleek frame is the biconvex accent in silver that separates the curved pedestal from the Panasonic logo on the lower portion of the frame. The oval pedestal doesn't swivel like other models, but does provides a sturdy base for this TV.

A closer inspection around the back of the Panasonic TX-P42G10B reveals two fans that provide cooling for the internal components. There is a low whir present when these fans are running, but it is perfectly masked during television viewing.

No need to crank up the volume either, watching television at a normal sound level is more than enough to drown the sound of the fans. There aren't any recessed handgrips to be found on this Panasonic model, but it can easily be picked up by the sides of the set.

Besides the cooling fans on the back of this set, there are all the needed connections; 2 HDMI, 2 SCARTS, an Ethernet port, an aerial connection, a CI slot, audio ins and outs, Freesat, digital audio out, and all the needed component hook-ups. Positioned on the side of the television set is a third HDMI connection, a place for an SD card, PC hook-up, VGA, S-video, and a headphone jack. The headphone jack works excellent for connecting external speakers for more bass and volume.

The remote control used with the Panasonic TX-P42G10B is amazingly simple, when compared to so many other remotes that have too many buttons to know what they all even do. This remote is clearly labeled and contains large buttons for fingers of all sizes. Controlling the colors, brightness, and contrast of the picture is made simple with this easy to navigate remote. Not much has to be tweaked in the way of adjusting the screen image, due to the overall screen uniformity.

The internal speakers on this model can pump out thick bass without causing distortion and are able to provide plenty of volume with complete clarity of sound. Due to the digital noise reduction, there is a lot less PWM noise than many other models on the market.

Concluding our Panasonic TX-P42G10B review, it is a magnificent compilation of all the best features found in LCD televisions. With the lush colors and sharp detail produced by this Panasonic model, movie viewing is an amazing experience.
