Panda 3.8 Update Rolled Out On June 25th
Heads up: We are pushing a new Panda update that noticeably affects only ~1% of queries worldwide
. - Is what a Googler tweeted on the tweeter on June 26th, 2012.
Google has announced a new refresh to the Panda algorithm on June 25th, 2012. This is the 3.8 update. Before this it was 8th June12 when Google had rolled out Panda 3.7 update that had an impact of around 1 % of search queries round the globe and less than 1% in the U.S. This update particularly impacted the sites which were originally red-flagged by the initial Panda Update.
On April 26th 27th, Google had pushed out Panda Update 3.6. This trend depicts that the Google refreshes the Panda Update approximately every month. Here, the Google has stated that no updates were there to the algorithm or changes in the signals. This was simply a basic data refresh where they ran the algorithm again.
It has been around a year and half, when the Panda initially rolled out by the Google. On Feb 24th 2011, Panda 1.0 update was on the floor. Since then, it has been updated at the consecutive interval of 3 to 7 weeks. One can consider Panda Update as a filter that lets Google scrutinize content deemed to lack substantial substance. It seemed that the Panda 1.0 aimed majorly at dealing with the complaints that poor contents from content farms were making Googles results less germane. Hence, the first Panda Update imposed penalty targeting websites having thin as well as not good enough content. This had dramatically impacted a number of publishers. On account of this update around 12% of the searches in the US got affected.
Whereas, the 2.0 update of Panda was to handle all English language queries. It included searches from English-speaking countries (such as google.co.uk, google.co.au) as well as non-English speaking countries (including googl.co.fr).
Following 2.0 version, Panda witnessed updates every month with very trivial changes. However, Panda 2.4 went international. It hit only 6 to 9% of non-English searches and 12% of US English searches.
The Panda has put tremendous impact on a number of sites. It even banged many renowned websites as well, such as Yahoo, About.com. Yahoo discharged its Associated Content site which was hit by the Panda and moved the best content to a new Yahoo Voices site. Whereas, About.com stated that on account of Panda it experienced an ascetically negative impact on page views.
If a considerable amount of your web-pages are flagged as poor, the complete site will subject to Panda Update. Yeah! But the good pages will continue witnessing good ranks. Removing or improving poor quality content is the only easy way to lose the penalty. Websites consist of good and solid contents would never be caught by PANDA.
So, update your website with the good, relevant and fresh content as early as possible!!!
