As kids across America finish school teachers are breathing a sigh of relief

. They are grading their final exams and getting ready for summer. As schools get ready for their summer hibernation our nation's day camps, summer camps, and other kids summer activity centers are just waking up. They are brushing the dust off of the cabins and getting the grounds ready for kids again. They are also ordering supplies for the summer ahead. If you work for such an organization you need to make sure you have plenty of specialty paper, glitter, markers, and heavy weight paper on hand. Arts and crafts is one of camp's most time honored traditions.

Kids love doing arts and crafts at camp. They get to relax and chat with each other while working on fun stuff with their hands. They can decorate their bunks and make gifts and cards for friends. Anyone who has been to camp has fun memories of doing arts and crafts. It is also an activity that costs the camp very little money.

Staff members like knowing they can always do an arts and craft project to entertain their kids. The possibilities are near endless from paper plane making contests to drawing pictures to mail to mom and dad. It serves as a good, relaxing activity when done after something like sports or hiking. Although camp is very physically stimulating sometimes it can be hard to plan activities that will stimulate the creative mind. That is why having a bevy of specialty paper and custom stock sheets is important.

Parents love arts and crafts too. It offers them souvenirs of their kid's experience. I'm sure parents are glad to get rid of the kids at first but after a few weeks they do start to miss them. That is when the sight of colored envelopes with a lot a hand drawn pictures is very welcome. It lets them know all is well and that their little one is having a great time.

A great way to transform the camp for parent visits is by organizing mass arts and crafts projects. Have the kids draw their favorite moments from the summer. Then plaster the camp with these fond memories so the parents know that their kids were up to all summer. It undoubtedly will trigger happy memories of a parent's own experience as a young camper. Just make sure you have enough specialty paper and other art supplies to fuel all that creativity.
