Parking games are clever little flash applications that are incredibly simple and very fun to play. Their uncomplicated design is highlighted by intuitive controls that even the most computer illiterate can grasp at first glance.

Although they are free, they aren't so cheaply made that they are utterly unplayable. The controls are basic, and work just fine no matter what car you are driving. The color scheme of the graphics are lovely and quite appealing to the eye. Game play has a good sense of movement and works similarly to driving a real car.

Steering and attempting to maneuver a vehicle from the starting area to a parking space is where the challenge truly lies. It looks simple enough, but it sometimes it is the really basic game play that makes it difficult. Some may think that if it is hard, then it must be a frustrating experience. But it isn't. They are challenging to master, but in a good way. A way that makes the player want to keep trying at it until they win.

In the online game Parking Perfection the player has 60 seconds to park their car into a highlighted area. The game is a little unforgiving and ends if you hit another car (just one) or when you run out of time. Game play is quite easy and the vehicle moves fast and smooth. Thankfully, the game allows the player to push one of the left or right arrows at the same time as either the up or down keys, making angled turns easy to maneuver. Another feature that is simple yet brilliant is the fact that it is not necessary to press a key in order for the car to move. There is no accelerator key needed, the arrows drive the car. The only other key needed is the space bar for the break. When steering the tires turn in the direction the player desires without much button mashing on their part.

For some gamers, 60 seconds may seem to be too short of a time span with which to park a car. The timer appears to move quite fast, but it is accurate. The game doesn't cheat you on time to frustrate you. It really doesn't. It's just that with the timer counting down on the left side of the screen, it adds a certain urgency that enhances overall game play.

Parking games are a refreshing way to spend some time without having to shell out any hard earned cash. In a gaming world where you need controllers with a myriad of buttons and a head set to play, these games are a refreshing throwback to a by-gone era where all that was needed to play was a single device with just three buttons. They are a unique, minimalist addition to online gaming that absolutely should be given a try.
