Paxos Island, The Most Beautiful Island In Ionian Sea

Paxos Island is the smallest island in Eptanisa

, placed in South of Corfu and 10 miles from the coast. Paxos Island is famous for green crystal water in most of the beaches and the natural vegetation that has been untouchable through all these years, even the big touristic growth that island has.

Paxos Island consists of a cluster of islands, and visitors can easily start to see that when they arrive in Gaios' port (capital of the island) and that time they can recognize Panagias Island with the monastery. The magic does not stop there, thus the visitors will soon see the Agios Nikolaos Island with the small Venetian castle, and that's only the beginning. Paxos beauties are many, nature's colors are also many, thus every season has something different to see and bring; surely you are going to love it.

Sea lovers will have the chance to pick through many and different from each other beaches thus their number is nearly 30 in the parameter of the island, starting from southern part of Paxos in Moggonisi to northern part in Lakka.

Of course for sea lovers the real surprise is hidden in a smaller island, south in Paxos with the name of this small island Antipaxos, where Greek mythology says, that Poseidon, Greek God of Sea, gave all that beauty, that even the beaches in Caribbean could be jealous. Three blue water beaches with fine sand are Antipaxos attraction through density of vegetation, magic does not stop all day and hold visitors breathe, even during evening or night, colors are fantastic.

Even the island is small, here suits perfectly what French people saying about perfumes, that most delicate perfumes suits to small bottles.

All days are different in Paxos, from morning that you can walk or enjoy the small port in Gaios till dawn where sun starts its journey back to sleep, and moon is starting its presence. It is a fact that nature in that small spot, gave so many beauties that it is difficult to discover them at once. Therefore, you can do that walking, cycling or even with a small boat.

Most characteristic moment is at Erimitis beach, located at western side of the island, where till 4 years ago there were only rocks; however due to an earthquake became one of the most beautiful beaches in the island. Last but not least that has to be mentioned, is the local's hospitality, where, if someone will visit Paxos for first time, will always want to come and visit that island.
