Security. Security means different things to different people. For some it is a job

, for others it is someone to love, a place to call home, safety, absence from danger, freedom from worries, and assurance. The synonyms of security are refuge, sanctuary, safekeeping, and confidence.

New York City is scary for some people, but not usually the locals. They understand that New York City has one of the best police departments of anywhere in the world. You are safer on the streets of New York in the evenings than most small cities in the Countries and certainly most of the large. Precautions have to be taken, vigilance and awareness certainly help, but between the police and security companies in NYC, you are in good hands.

Security of a job is forefront in many people's minds today. The job market is unstable; the nation's unemployment rate is the highest it has been in decades, this leads people to feelings of insecurity. Remember that ninety percent of the country is still working and hopefully, you are among those ninety. Don't let the media get you down; life is good if you look at the positives.

Someone to love is a basic human need. To love and be loved are as important as air for a persons sense of well-being. Babies in orphanages in Third World Countries were dying due to nothing more than not being held, cared for and loved. They had food, clean clothes, cribs, but weren't held, loved or played with. Some babies simply turned their little faces to the wall and died. What a tragedy. A important part of the human experience is love.
