Peoria Kia Sportage customers should get excited about upcoming models

Las Vegas is never more glamorous than when the SEMA show comes to town and auto makers from around the world show off their newest concepts and flashiest features. Your Peoria Kia Sportage dealer would like to share a few of the models that Kia brought to Vegas - because they won't be staying in Vegas. They will be coming to a showroom near you.

Kia went mainly green for this show, bringing a propane-fueled hybrid of the Forte compact sedan. The Forte is a bit of a foreshadow of what's to come - the 2011 Kia Optima Hybrid. These are part of the big picture of Kia's plans on the hybrid, hydrogen fuel-cell and electric fronts.

The Forte Hybrid in its current form - running on propane - is not likely to go on sale in the United States as there are not propane passenger cars being sold here. Who knows, though, maybe Kia is ready to break open the U.S. market. Conversions are available after-market, but those are few and far between as well.

For now, though, Kia plans to stick with Korea and China for its propane models, as those counties already have the infrastructure to support propane use. But the Forte Hybrid concept does deserved accolades with its low-rolling resistance tires and alloy wheels.

The electric motor pulls 10 horsepower and can be used to restart the engine and to provide some extra pull. This is the same engine system used in the Hyundai Elantra LPI Hybrid which launched in Korea last year and is made by Kia's sister company.

For customers of Peoria auto repair, the Kia Forte is a model with a reputation for reliability. Kia, like Hyundai, has been moving steadily upward in the estimation of customers and the sales and ratings rankings in the auto industry.

Peoria Kia Sportage owners will love the Forte, hybrid or not, as well as the Sportage. When it comes to incorporating the latest technological and safety features, Kia is right on top of it. Many 2011 models are packed with fun features and Kia has more coming soon.

It plans to reintroduce the Optima - totally new and chic - in Australia just after the first of the year and the auto industry is already buzzing about this model, designed in Germany and California by Kia's top team. Too bad we don't have any word on when this sleek machine might hit the shores here in the U.S.

Your Peoria auto repair advisors would have you remember the importance of maintenance, whether you have a new Kia or have been driving one for several years. Don't forget to schedule your appointment for oil, tire, transmission and other system checks.
