Pepsi In Contrast To Coca-cola
Every Generation Refreshes The World this is the famous starting words of Pepsi Cola
Companys tag line, which nowadays appear on every possible place of advertisement. The other thing we see (in addition to audio supplement) is corporations logo made of blue and red colors, and while looking at it people feel in bones the relatedness to Pepsi Cola. That is a huge stage achieved by this company, but the history of its visual appearance was worth it, I assume. The same thing might be referred to Coca-Cola brand as well, which is considered a true competitor of the first one. Many people believe that Coca-Cola has never changed its identification mark, font and logo as a whole, in contrast to the constant changes conducted by competitor - the Pepsi Cola Company. However, this is a big mistake, because Coca-Cola has changed its logo for several times over the last hundred years, though not as dramatically as on the opponents side.
The distinctive feature of Pepsi is that it has not changed the appearance of logo, but improved and perfected it. In 1905-1906 the first restylings have been performed due to the development of the brand and its promotion. Logo has become smoother and easy-formed - capital images merged into one and have depicted a very modern recognizable image. In the 1906 version the slogan of "The Original Pure Food Drink" appeared. Minor changes have occurred in the logo of 1940. In 1941, there is another symbol of the company being introduced- red and blue circle, divided by a white wavy stripe - a tribute to American military power. In 1950 it was secured as a new logo. In 1962, Pepsi was the first to refuse writing conjointly with the word Cola, the brand name was spelled in capital letters - thus, the company identified itself by its arch rival - Coca-Cola. The use of red and lowercase writing throughout the first half of the 20th century were common features of these companies. Pepsi has decided to abandon such a graphic first.
As one of the companies preserving a long lifetime history, Pepsi has improved its logo for nine times since 1898. Although the red color was and continue to be present in every logo; speaking of other paints, two other official colors, blue and white, were added only in 1950s. The logo close to a modern type appeared only in 1984, including graphics and
drink font, which maintains the basis comprised with smiled faces in a purpose to attract the attention of young people, who always was the main customers of the company.
