great British summer, we love it when the sun comes out, people become instantly happy (before moaning about the air conditioning in the office and how theyd rather be outside), windows get flung open and rusty barbeques become the star of the show. If youre anything like me youll be jealous of those people who have a beautiful grassy lawn, accessed from the house by a set of double French doors.

Having said that, your outdoor space doesnt have to be palatial, a lot can be done with a tiny patio or grassy area with a little love and attention to detail. What makes all the difference is that set of French doors, not only do they allow easy access to your outdoor space but they really open up whichever room they lead from. Your living room or kitchen will instantly be flooded with light, where there was once a single door or a solid wall there is now a wall of light. Back to barbeques, carrying bowls full of potato salad, garlic bread and armfuls of condiments can be a right pain if theres no easy way of getting to your outdoor space, imagine how much easier the whole process would be if you could simply unlock your patio doors and walk freely in and out, directly from the house to the garden. Theres no squeezing through tight doorways with armfuls of stuff, just a nice easy stroll and a nice lot of fresh air into the house to blow away the winter cobwebs.
