After spending much of the winter in woollen and thick dresses, spring offers you the chance to swap these for lighter fabric, but do make sure your dress still has a little weight to it. While you can get away with floaty dresses in the summer, there are likely to be winds in spring that will play havoc with chiffon or light cotton numbers. What's more, heavier dresses tend to react better to layering - and layering is one of the best ways to make sure your spring wardrobe allows you to celebrate the season without catching a chill.
