There are slippers and there are slippers. It is all very well being frugal but that is no excuse to keep wearing threadbare worn out ancient carpet slippers when there are so many new and colourful designs to choose from. There is an old adage that in the City you can tell a mans wealth or success by the quality of his footwear and how many of you are going to start looking now at your colleagues shoes! Mind you, if you are the boss of the company and your junior executives have old and worn out shoes then perhaps you are not paying enough. Men in particular are always averse to wasting their hard earned income on shoes. As long as the suit looks O.K. the thought is that no one bothers to look at the shoes. This is of course not the case for female workers. You rarely see a shoddy shoe on a female colleague and we all know of someone with a cupboard full. In an average lifetime a man may buy about 20% of the total number of shoes a woman will buy. We all remember at least one famous deposed woman with a phenomenal collection of shoes the value of which when new could have fed hundreds of starving people.

Now if men have problems parting with their cash on new shoes this should not be the case for slippers. Old and worn out slippers are very unattractive and what with the price of a good pair there really is no excuse opening the door of your executive pad to greet a lady in a pair with your toe sticking through.

There is a fine smart selection at homeys slippers and a slick check pair or bright tartan design is bound to impress your visitor. If you are a rather dull clod by day sitting in your grey suit crunching numbers on the VDU then choose something whacky for the evening. Get yourself a racy smoking jacket and a cravat, pour yourself a long drink and sit in your favourite chair and enjoy the feel of those new katz or pink or spotted slippers.
