No matter what time of year it is, we all want that beach body. Getting into bikini-body shape used to be a source of anxeity and fear...until now.
Follow these 4 steps and you'll be on your way to looking hot in that bikini in no time at all!
1. Eat Breakfast, Everyday
So many dieters think skipping breakfast is the fastest way to losing weight...but they're dead wrong. The body is very smart and it WILL get the calories it needs, one way or another. Many people talk to me about how they have these almost uncontrollable urges to binge eat at night and they can't figure out why.
9 times out of 10 its because they skip breakfast. Some people even develop "night eating" where they can wake up in the middle of the night, go to the kitchen, eat a ton of food, then wake up and not remember it!
Eating breakfast, especially one that is centered around protein and vegetables, will not only prevent binge eating later in the day, it will ramp up the body's metablolism, turning you into a 24/7 fat burning machine.
A small omlette with spinach and an ounce of cheese or 1/2 cup of Greek Yogurt mixed with chopped walnuts and blueberries is a perfect way to get your fat burning machinery firing.
2. To Get a Bikini Body, Eat in an Upside Down Pyramid
This one always surprises people since we've been taught to eat a small breakfast, medium lunch and then pile on the food at dinner.
Metabolically, this makes no sense. If you work a normal day shift, you expend the majority of your calories between 7 am and 6pm. So why not eat more early and less late?
This tip alone will help you shed 10 - 12lbs in a month!
Make breakfast the biggest, then a small snack, then a slightly smaller lunch, then dinner should be, calorically, much less than breakfast. If you just said "but I'm STARVING by dinner time," then you didn't eat a good breakfast and lunch.
3. Do Workouts that Will Give You a Bikini Body
I see this all the time in hammonton and wherever I do personal traning...women have been conditioned to think that hopping on the treadmill and running like a hamster for an hour is going to get them lean.
Sure, it works...to a point. But, at soem point you over do it, get injuries in the feet, ankles, knees, and hips...and you start to lose muscle, which shows on the scale but makes you look like a skinny fat person!
The better solution is to mix resistance training with a touch of cardio. Things like alternating between Lunges and Stationary bike sprints or Squats and Push-Ups will not only burn fat but they'll help you build lean muscle which will further up your metabolism!
4. Rotate Your Diet
This one is a little complicated for this article, but, the basic thought is this:
Go strict on your diet for 21 days, then cheat. Then, every 10 - 14 days, cheat again. See, when we diet for too long the brain shuts down production of a fat burning hormone called leptin. When leptin falls, so does your weight loss.
Most think that if they cheat for a day they've "blown" their diet. This is poor thinking left over from the horribly fat-phobic and fad diet laden 1980s and 90s.
The truth is, when you cheat at these pre-planned intervals, you actually lose MORE.
