Even if you are living with several roommates, this is all the more reason to have that extra bit of protection. Getting an alarm is important because not only does it alert you of an intruder, but it also has the technology to notify local police authorities. Since you are living not only in the city, but most likely in a neighborhood populated by college students, criminals are likely to frequent this zone.
