Personalised Baby Gifts For When They Grow Up
We bet you all have a cupboard full of beautiful christening and baby gifts that
your children were given, only to find them completely inappropriate for later life. There is nothing sweeter than a set of personalised cutlery, all chubby and stubby with your name on, however, the only trouble is they look a bit stupid if you try and eat with them when you are fifteen! They can't even be passed on to your own children because the name is different. We are sure there is a tiny tankard somewhere with a name and date on, only to find that the recipient really doesn't want to drink out of it with his mates when he is eighteen.
Personalised bibs are cute and are usually worn out after a few years of wear and tear so they are a nicer idea as they have a purpose, as do tiny shoes because at least they get worn. The longer lasting baby gifts always go down well. What a lovely idea to be able to open that bottle of champagne with your name on when you have your 21st birthday party. As long as mum and dad haven't got to it first of course and when you have finished it, the bottle can be kept as a treasured memento for years to come. Other personalised baby gifts that go the distance are things such as a personalised star or a flower, they never get old even when the baby does! A beautiful silver jewellery box, engraved with a special message will be a lovely thing to bring out when your daughter is grown up enough to have her own trinkets.
The grown up baby boys will also appreciate any of the personalised gifts aimed at them on the popular websites that give so many choices of presents these days. A money box designed for boys could well be used in later life and a leather bound diary may not come into its own for a few years, but with a special inscription inside, this is one of many personalised gifts that a child can enjoy as they get older. A photo frame with names engraved around the edge could well be used twice, once for the baby as a christening or early birthday gift and again when the grown up has children of their own. As long as personalised gifts have an appropriate message, they could span the different generations of one family quite easily.
So next time you need to buy a christening or baby gift, think about the longevity of personalised baby gifts and make sure they will be appreciated for many years and not just a few months. Baby blankets with names on will stir precious memories if they are brought out again for your own children, even with just a surname on or a date, it will make it special for both parents and baby when they recognise it as one they had when they were very young. Just look after it otherwise it will end up as a dog blanket!
Naming a star will be well received by baby's parents and then when the baby is old enough, it will still think it cool to have a star with its own name on, especially if given with a chunky silver star paperweight, in order to have something touchable as well as a certificate. A personalised singing teddy might well come out generation after generation as well if looked after properly. Lots of us have soft toys that we give our own children and they can be loved over and over again. No doubt the name of teddy will change but it's just another example of the variety of baby gifts that can go on and on.
For the really imaginative you could buy an ultimate experience day that you pay for a little bit each year and then when the 'baby' comes of age at either 18 or 21, the gift will be really fun. Of course the details may have changed and you couldn't book it 21 years in advance but put the money aside and see what is available when the time is right. It's different and quirky and there will be so much to choose from by then, the whole experience will be brilliant and fulfilling for all concerned.
Whatever you choose from the many personalised baby gifts online, make it count and make it different. Check out the online choices and enjoy choosing something with meaning.
