A pet is a known as household animal for enjoyment and companionship of a person

as opposed to sports animal, livestock, laboratory animals and working animals which are kept for economic reasons. Attractive appearances and the loyal or playful personalities are noted in pets. Some people use their pets for their benefits such as providing companionship to elderly adults who does not have any social interaction or connection to interact with other people.

Some people also believe in emotional and physical benefits, to verify on these ideas of the people scientists are currently working on it by their medical studies. Medically approved class of therapy animals are now opened especially for dogs that are brought to visit confined humans. This therapy is also known as Pet therapy which utilizes handlers and trained animals to achieve specific social, physical, emotional and cognitive goals with patients. To take a dog for a walk can provide both the dog and the owner with fresh air, exercise and social interaction.

Cats and Dogs are considered to be a most popular pets , but beside this there are rodent pets also like fancy rats, chinchillas, hamsters, guinea pigs and gerbils and avian pets such as parrots parakeets and canaries, aquatic pets such as tropical fishes and frogs and reptile pets like snakes, turtles and lizards. The ability to stimulate their caregivers is seen in the Pets. Health goals can be achieved by having a pet such as mental goals or lowered blood pressure, decreased stress. It is also proved that a pet helps a person to lead a longer and healthier life. Having pets at home actually has a positive impact on the health not only for adults but also for children.

Certain benefits are revealed that pets can help a child to read well. One of the researchers has proved that when a child is asked to read in front their pets they read very fluently. One of psychiatrists for children and teenager states that having a pet increases the ability of a child in their non- verbal communication. It is also stated by some experts that a child who grows up with a pet has a high IQ level and emotional intelligence also. Some of the researches also says that a child brought with a pet like dog and cat actually can reduce the risk of asthma and allergy and can have stronger immune system that can effectively fight with the chronic respiration disease can reduce the stress level and the autism childs anxiousness.

Pets are not only our furry friends but also good companions. It is true that pets jerk at our heartstrings, but also they improve our physical and mental status and of course they led us to live happier and longer lives. Past 25 years studies have revealed that fondling a cat or a dog lower heart rate and blood pressure and enhance the level of the dopamine and mood-related brain. It has been noticed that heart patient recovers and survive more by having a pet at home. There is a great saying A dog is the only thing on earth that you more than he loves himself.

Having a pet at home doesnt leads to loneliness, we feel that we have a friend as they always accompany us and also give us social interaction.
