Not all dogs need to live and play outdoors all the time and if you train them well, these dogs surely learn to behave adequately as a decent member of the society. We have found five breeds of dogs that are well behaved and safe to be kept in an apartment.
Chihuahua: This dog has got every reason to top the list of most appropriate pets to keep in an apartment. For a long time it has been pampered well by the many Beverly Hills celebrities, who, themselves find it tedious to step out of their luxurious houses. Chihuahuas are friendly companions and harmless around small children as well.
Pug: This cuddly little creature is a bit sensitive to the extreme temperatures, hence must be kept indoors. Pugs have a very peaceful temperament and are extremely safe around children. This is the type of of pet which likes to rest by your side and watch a movie. The pug behaves well with other animals too. You can take them outside for routine exercise.
Basset Hound: This canine is a very loyal family dog. You can expect it to be safe to the little kids. The hounds have excellent temperament both indoors and outdoors. You do not essentially need a yard or garden to breed this dog and you will be surprised at how playful it gets when brought outside. They have a highly sensitive sense of smell and create a very unique musical bark when hungry.
Schipperke: Being a perfect apartment pet does not mean it has to be sluggish. Schipperke are incredibly active indoors and surprisingly harmless around little kids. Schipperke is one breed which seems like an aggressive hunting dog but actually is a very nice and peaceful natured. This creature will surely keep the intruders away.
Bichon Frise: And finally a dog so cute and loving that your children will not need any more toys. They are fluffy and mostly white in color. They are energetic dogs and require a fair amount of exercise, however, they are easy and safe indoors.
