Peyronie's disease features plaque or hard lumps. The lumps develop within the penis. The lumps or plaque which is a flat plate of scar tissue can form on the bottom side or top of the penis in the internal of tunica albuginea' (a thick membrane). The tunica albuginea is the enclosure of the erectile tissues. At first, the plaque starts out as a localized inflammation and eventually grows into a hard scar.
