Most photo studios and camera houses would be able to put your photos on canvas quite quickly and effortlessly. Putting your photos on canvas can take as little as a couple of days to about a maximum of about ten days. If you place a standard order for your photos on canvas will cost you less than if you were to place a priority order.

A priority order, basically means that you want your order rushed through and put before other peoples orders, in order for this to happy and you become a priority the studio or shop will charge you and extra fee. Some places do offer a twenty four hour express priority service, but you should be prepared to pay a hefty fee for this.

The first step you will need to take for you photos on canvas project is to select the photo you want to do. Next you should email it or post it over to your chosen store or gallery. Once they have received your photo someone will look at it, ensure it is suitable for reprint as it is. If it is not up to standard the studio may contact you and ask you if you would it retouched.

The next step is for the studio to will advise you as to what size they recommend for your picture. Although you will have the ultimate say on the size (within reason), the studio will recommend what they think is best and give you a full costing. After that they will either email you a proof or ask you to come in and have a look at the proof for you to approve. Once you have given them your approval, the final step is to have your canvas sealed, or sprayed with laminate. The canvas is usually sprayed about three times this laminating process is done to protect your canvas from harmful UV rays and other types of abrasions. The laminating also stops your canvas from scratches. The laminate can be done as a matt, semi gloss or a satin finish. If you are not sure about what finish you like, you can always ask to see some samples of the three finishes.

The final step in the process is to stretch your canvas, stretching is just as it sounds. Once the laminate has dried you print will be stretched to make sure the ink is safe from cracking.
