Picking The Right Drawing Pencil

It is a misconception that selecting a drawing pencil is an easy job

. The only thing you have to do is to just watch your pencil jar and pick the right pencil. The most difficult part regarding this is that there are varieties of options in this context from where you can select the one according to your choice.

The pencil named as number 2 pencil is best for using in the math class. This particular type of pencil cannot be used for drawing purpose. There are varieties of pencils available in the market that are made of a combination of both soft and hard material and have varying degree. The thing that makes the pencil hard is the graphite.

The hard pencils are mainly used for making the outline and they can also be used for shading any particular area. With this, you will be able to shade the areas in alight manner. Most of the hard pencils are designated by the letter H. They are also known by the number 0 and up.

As the number will be higher, the pencil will be much harder. This is the reason why the number 2 pencil is named as HB. This particular pencil is a combination of both hard and soft material. The designation meant for the soft pencil is B. This particular pencil also has a varying degree of softness that starts from 0B and up.

The higher will be the number; you will be able to purchase a much softer pencil. This will be clear if we take an example like a pencil named as 7B pencil contains much softer graphite than the one present in 2B. The soft pencils are best for the purpose of shading. At the starting, you should use with the least soft pencil and then gradually start using the softer pencil because with this you can be able to draw a darker line.

This is because as you press on a soft pencil, more graphite breaks away than a hard pencil. The best way to draw is by using different pencils. You can start with an H pencil, outlining your sketch and getting the basics down. Press lightly so that the lines don't show through. This is just to get down the correct dimensions.
