Ping I20 Irons Fair Compromise Between Forgiveness & Playability Review

I am a mid-handicap player and was looking for a set of irons that were somewhere

between a "Players Iron" (blades with shot-shaping control) and "Game Improvment" irons with forgiving cavity back design. It seems the i20's are just that. The Ping i20 irons are ideal for a player with a single digit handicap, however, a mid handicap player can also get away with them because of their forgiveness. The distance of these irons was pretty routine in my opinion.

Just a few short days after PING announced the Ping G20 irons, interest immediately shifted over to what the i20s might hold. The Ping i20 Iron Set is multi-metal iron set that offers optimized performance through progressive set design. There's a great compromise between playability and forgiveness. When I mishit, there's a quite "hard" response from the club, but very forgiving without losing too much distance. When you hit in the sweetspot the feeling is great.

These Ping i20 irons have a great feel and really seem to fit my need for max control and forgiveness. I will come back and post another review after my golf trip to San Antonio, TX next week. We play 3 courses in 3 days. Looking forward to putting these clubs to the test on some very tough courses. The i20s offered a consistent and accurate flight, with a piercing trajectory. If precision and accuracy are important in your irons this is a great match.

They combined with my Ping G20 Driver for sale serve a lot in my game imprvement. I was hitting a 7 iron 165 which is 20 yards longer than any club i have had before. These clubs are straight and very easy to work either left to right or right to left. The forgiving, high-launching long irons blend into more-penetrating mid- and short irons, offering control for precise shot making.

Their progressive offset and smaller head size is still there but is less noticeable and the short irons look much playable then previously, as they used to get too compact for our liking. The new satin finish looks very good in a Ping kind of way and combined with the ferrule on the hosel, the Ping i20 irons have a real better player feel about them. The Ping i20 irons feature a low-glare satin finish. Tungsten weights in the toe of the irons elevates the i20's forgiveness, whilst a new stabilising bars and thicker face offer precise distance control and solid feel.
