Places Of Interest In Spain Algorfa

An interesting common factor which one observes in his tour of Spain is that irrespective

of how big or small the place, it has something unique and something interesting. What we are talking is about a small town Alforfa, a town of Costa Blanca province in Spain.

Brief history:

This small town has a population of about 3000 people. The town has a rich history dating back to the year 1328 when King Alfonso II initiated steps to form the first municipality of the town. Known for its unmatched beautiful landscape and rich vegetation supported by the great river Segura on one side and a spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea on the other side, Alforfa is certainly a place to enjoy the beauty of nature. Just parallel to the Sea is a row of mountains which enhances the beauty of the place.

Places of interest:

Church:

This church built in the 19th century in traditional neo gothic architectural design is located just outside the town. This church receives visitors throughout the year. The church has been built with some unusual designs which are unique to this church. It is certainly a religious place worth visiting.

Beach:

The nearest beach is located at a place called Guardamar del Segura which is just about 15 minutes drive from the town. Certainly it is a very beautiful beach. There are a lot of avenues for water sports like boating, diving and host of other water sports.

Golf ground:

Blessed with the most beautiful landscape and rich vegetation, perhaps the town is most ideal to be the best place to play golf. The most renowned golf ground with its Par 72 and eighteen holes playing area is the host for many international golf events.

Weather and vegetation:

Visitors can be assured of sunshine almost throughout the year. Interestingly there is little rainfall in this part of the province, yet the place is quite cool. With average temperature not exceeding 19 degrees, the place is something wonderful to relax and enjoy in the midst of beautiful nature. Blessed with good vegetation, there are large areas under cultivation of citrus fruits. Cultivation of lemon and orange is also taken up on a very large scale. One can find vast areas of lands where there fruits are grown.

Shopping and stay:

There are enough villas and hotels to ensure comfortable stay. There are also plenty of shops to take you on a shopping spree.
