This small town of Malaga province of Spain has become one of the most sought after places amongst tourists

. The town with a population of about 55000 people is bestowed with abundant avenues for development of tourism. In fact, tourism is one of the major industries of Benalmadena. Let us go on a sightseeing spree of this great town.

Puerto Marina:

Not much needs to be said about this great beach because twice it has been awarded the international award best marina. That speaks of how beautiful the beach is and how perfectly it is maintained. One gets every luxury that is expected at the most reasonable cost. Here you can see villas, hotels and other buildings which have beautiful mixture of Indian, Arab and Andalusian architecture. Now you can also see people enjoying water sports. There are also training centers for sailing. There are golf centers, shopping malls, casinos, Aqua Park and amusement park which are all within walking distance.

Buddhist temple:


This 33 meter high Stupa of Lord Buddha was built in 2004 by the renowned artist Wojtek Kossowski. This artist has built 16 such Stupas throughout Europe. This most imposing and spectacular temple attracts largest number of tourists. In the temple, there is a meditation hall and an exhibition on Himalayan paintings and literature on Buddhism and other interesting subjects. Paintings depicting the life of Buddha Sakyamuni have also been painted by experienced artists from Nepal.

Art museum:

This art museum called the Precolumbian Art Museum has been set up in 2005. It has a priceless collection of most rare pre Columbian art work donated by Felipe Orlando who was a writer, painter and a poet from Mexico. Felipe was a good friend of the Mayor of Benalmadena and was a resident of Malaga. These art works were inherited by Felipe from his father. These painting works have been collected from several countries like Peru, Mxico, Columbia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, etc. Apart from this, there are also many artifacts from Roman period which were discovered in the coast. An interesting article collected is a set of cosmetics contained in some glass jars which is believed to belong to the Roman period. The cosmetics collected include eye liners which are believed to have been used by Roman women.

Paloma Park:

This is one of the biggest parks of Spain located just near the beach. It has beautiful walking areas, high jet fountains, lake, childrens walking area, kiosk, etc. There are rabbits which amuse the visitors.
