. Peniscola, a seaport of Valencian municipality in Spain is the best example to justify this statement. This small town is most popular among tourists from Europe. According to historians this seaport is believed to have been built in the year 1294. This is one of most popular tourist spots of Valencia. The beach in Peniscola gets crowded during holiday season. Yet, there is complete privacy so that the tourist would enjoy his stay. Pensicola is connected through a good road. It is also connected by railway. The place can be reached by ferry and by air also. The most beautiful surrounding with ample facilities for sports like water sports, tennis etc, Peniscola is most ideal for enjoying a relaxed holiday with family and friends.

The Lighthouse:

One of the most interesting places of visit is the lighthouse which is about 220 feet in height. The lighthouse is connected to the main land through a narrow strip of land. The strait through which the sea water goes back to the sea from the main land is called as Bufador de Papa Luna.

This tiny town has a castle having historic importance. According to history Pope Benedict lived here from 1417 to 1423. The castle has been renovated recently. The beautiful castle is now one of the most important tourist spot. The castle is located in the midst of stunningly beautiful environment. The castle is now converted into a tourist resort.

Every year film festival is held in Peniscola. Renowned actors, actresses and producers worldwide take part in this film festival. Many film lovers from far and wide attend this film festival. During this period, the entire town wears festive look.

Peniscola has ample opportunity for those who are shopping frenzy. Many works of arts, jewellery and textiles are the popular products sold here. There are many malls and supermarkets where products are reasonably priced.

Board and lodge:

The normal population of Pensicola is about 4000. But during the holiday season, the population swells to about 10000. Therefore tourists are advised to book their accommodation in advance. There are enough villas and apartments but to make the tour comfortable, tourists are advised to reserve their accommodation. Peniscola is popular for the restaurants and bars which serve traditional dishes of Peniscola.
