Planning Our First Ever Holiday In Cuba To Include Plenty Of History And Culture But Also Mingling W
Weve seen documentaries on Cuba, heard stories about Cuba
, read reviews about the island and we cant wait to actually go to Cuba! Cuba holidays are something that my wife and I are looking into now and have been thinking about for a while. Having never been there before, we want to do a little research to ensure we see all the places that weve so often heard about and get to check out not only landmarks and historic buildings but also the most popular venues for the locals, where the real Cuban people like to hang out and party.
We are not the kind of average travellers looking for beach and sunshine, and although we certainly wont mind a bit of that, were more into absorbing the sights, the scenery, the people, the culture and the history. And after weve done all that we also like to tread off the beaten path and get to mingle with the locals, discover they like to frequent, away from tourist crowds and learn from their philosophy life and unique joie de vivre. Weve heard a lot about Cubans being free-spirited and carefree with a positive and creative outlook on life and a defying attitude despite the many financial and sociological problems they face on a daily basis, due to decades of economic embargo imposed by the U.S. government. We want to learn from their simple and joyful way of life.
We have heard a lot about people going to Cuba and having lots of fun. We want to experience that for ourselves as well. We just have to figure out what we are going to do once we get there. We also are looking for the perfect accommodation in a centric location to enjoy the vibrant Cuban culture. It is difficult to decide right away where we are going to stay if we don't know what activities we are looking forward to yet but I feel good knowing that there are many options for us to explore. I am most looking forward to savouring Cuban food. I heard that some of their Creole recipes are quite delicious and mouth-watering without actually being spicy (I cant stand spicy food and most Caribbean countries are all about spice!). I simply cant wait for us toget there and fall in love Cuba once weve experienced it ourselves.
