Planning Strategy For A Work From Home Online Job

People begin with online jobs thinking it will free them of the tensions and routine of a regular job

. It does too, at least in the beginning. But with time as people keep taking same online projects to make money, they get into the same routine. The only difference is that they are at home in their pajamas now.

Save yourself from the inevitable outcome if you want to continue working online. After all, shouldn't the online work let you take a break whenever you want, attend your kid's dance performance, travel wherever you want and enjoy your life. But if you just keep increasing your expertise on elance, chances are you will not be able to break away.

I worked on a 3 phase plan of working from home. I have been freelancing for quite some time now and here is a simple strategy that worked for me:

Phase 1: Jobs - Short Term: Though not for long term, elance, craiglist etc. are great places to start working. These short term projects will help you make money for your daily expenses as you work toward your future goals. Your income will keep increasing gradually as you gain experience and people start trusting your work.

Phase 2: Work -Mid-term: You have an interest or expertise? It's time to leverage that. Make yourself more knowledgeable on the topic. Interact with people from the same field, read books, blogs whatever. Now start your own blog on the topic. Learn basic internet marketing and write informative and focused blog articles. Don't write on topics you think are great. Understand what the target reader is searching for and what s/he would like to read. Now fulfill this wish. Don't stop working on phase 1 as yet.

Phase 3: Plan - Long Term: If you have been writing on your blog regularly, sharing your knowledge with readers, you must have a regular traffic. Take feedback from the readers about what more they would like to read about. Buy products related to your topic and write honest reviews. If you find the product good, join the affiliate network of the product. This way if readers buy your recommendation you get a share. You can earn in many more ways through your blogs for e.g. contextual advertising like google ads etc.

Once you start making passive money from phase 3, you can slowly reduce the number of short term jobs you accept. You can completely stop working on those when you build a solid long term income from you website.

Now all you have to do is maintain the website and enjoy!
