Planning Years Ahead For Your Vacations

Planning ahead for vacations is a good way to go to all of the places that you had hoped to someday visit

. There are several areas to consider as you plan. You should look at where you want to go, how long you can be gone, and how much money you can set aside. There are other smaller details that you will need to plan for, but these are the main issues.

Most likely, you have several places where you would like to go for a vacation. Choose your five favorite ones and write them down from simplest to most extensive.

Do a little research into each place and decide how long it would take to really enjoy vacations in each of the spots. Consider excursions, day trips, shopping, and anything else that might fit the location. Write down next to each location a length of time.

After you look at the place and the length of time, you should consider the cost. For the option five years down the road, it might not be practical to choose a specific hotel or resort. A lot can change in five years. Take the time to look at a few websites of the areas, and just see what the average costs are to stay in the area. Write down that average amount. Next to average of the hotel/resort cost, write down what method you would likely use to get to a certain place. This will obviously vary. Whatever method, whether driving or flying, write down what the current averages are to go to the places listed. If one of the options is a cruise, then you will write down the entire cost for the cruise and add the amount for either flying or driving to get to the ship. You should also add in what you think would work for spending money on the trips.

As you look at your paper, you should see a list of places, a number of days or weeks, and a cost. Add the costs for each trip and then add together the costs downward to get a five-year total. That is the total for which you will begin saving that day. The first vacation on your list of vacations should be a year away at this point, so in the process of saving for the whole, you will be saving for the first one on the list.

In order to save, divide the total by 60. This is for 60 months. That will tell you how much to set aside every month for your vacations. Sometimes, it might be difficult to deposit an amount in your savings. In order to guarantee you save, have a direct deposit from checking to savings every month. When you make a plan like this, stick with it as long as you possibly can.
