Planning a Card Party for your Bachelorette Party
The bachelorette party is an important part of any wedding
. More and more brides to be look forward to this event as a way to celebrate with her friends and family before the wedding. It is different from a bridal shower. That party is more formal, and is usually a party with 50 or more guests. The bachelorette party is a time for the bride to be to celebrate with her closest friends and family members.
This party should reflect the personality of the bride to be. If she enjoys playing card games, why not have a card party bachelorette party for her?
Any kind of card game she enjoys is a great way to spend time with friends and family. Poker games (such as Texas Hold'Em) can be played and can be enjoyable. However, if the bride to be enjoys different types of games (such as Bridge, Gin Rummy or even Whist) these can be the theme of the party as well.
You'll want to find a place to have the party that can accommodate a card game. Someone's home is probably best, but you can also consider renting a suite at a hotel to have the party too. You'll want to purchase several decks of new playing cards for the party. There are places online where you can purchase personalized playing cards. This could be a nice idea for party favors. You can buy enough decks of cards so each guest can take one home as a memento at the end of the evening.
When planning the
menu for this bachelorette party you'll want to keep the food simple. Things that can be eaten without utensils would work best. It is hard to play cards and try to cut up food at the same time? What kinds of foods would be nice to serve? You can't go wrong with cut up cheese, fruit and vegetable platters, but other appetizers such as Buffalo chicken wings, Spring Rolls, mini pizzas, mini meatballs and stuffed mushrooms could work too. Don't forget about dessert. Cookies, mini pastries, or pieces of chocolate candy would be nice to serve at the bachelorette party.
You will also need to have a variety of drinks available for your guests. Provide a selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for your guests (if you know that some of the guests will be expecting an "adult" beverage). If all your friends enjoy one type of alcoholic drink a pitcher of martinis or Sangria would be nice and easy to make. You can make the drinks in a large batch, allowing you more time to enjoy the party.
When deciding what type of bachelorette party theme to use, be sure to consider the likes and dislikes of the bride to be. If she enjoys playing cards, a card party might be the way to go.
