Plans for log cabins in East Yorkshire met with concerns

Log Cabins and a holiday village could be approved if a local developer has his plans approved.

Although the plans to build the 50 log cabins have not yet been submitted, they have already been stirring up a lot of emotions in councillors and local residents.

The log cabins would be located on the Humber foreshore which is just south of the A63, East Yorkshire's busiest road.

Those who oppose the plans fear over access to the site and are concerned about issues such as road safety.

These concerns come after the developer, Keith Brown Properties, announced that the plans would also include building an access road to the site.

According to an article in This is Hull and East Riding, The Highways Agency now fears that a new access road could cause traffic chaos on the busy A63.

As a result of these concerns, The Highways Agency has now issued a six month holding order on the application as it waits on more detailed information to be submitted from the developer. This will include more details on how they will address the concerns regarding traffic flow and congestion around the A63.

The developer will need to think about issues such as accidents because any incidents on the site may cause traffic chaos on the roads going into and out of Hull.

Speaking to the newspaper, a spokesman for the Highways Agency said: " We have concerns about the safety of the junction layout submitted to date and these issues need to be resolved as safety is of the highest priority to the Agency.

"Any accidents occurring in the location would also be likely to result in queues and delays on the A63."

The plans to build the holiday village are still to be submitted by the developer.
