* You should add some mild fertilizer while planting a shrub or tree. This gives it enough energy to jumpstart its initial growth. There is a good chance that transplanted plants might wither away so you should take extra care in terms of proper watering and adequate fertilization at this stage.

If it is tilting towards one side, then you should dig out the soil again and refill the hole around the plant while holding it in a perpendicular position to the ground. If any shrub or tree is not planted at 90 degrees to the ground, it would grow sideways with a tilt that cannot be corrected at a later stage. This would look awkward and also affect the health of the tree or shrub.

* Once the shrub or sapling is sowed, you should arrange the loose soil in a small heap around it. This is essential for water retention and proper growth at this tender stage. You should also water the tree or shrub regularly for 2 weeks. However, make sure that you do not flood it with excessive watering. This will decompose the plant by retarding its growth.
