Plastic Cladding Is First Choice

Plastic is used in building projects extensively as it combines an unequalled array

of beneficial properties such as waterproofing, light weight, flexibility and durability amongst others. Coupled with all of these properties is the ability to be moulded into an almost endless array of shapes and sizes. Intricate small pieces can be moulded whilst equally simple and large components can also be manufactured.

Some of the real strengths of plastics are demonstrated in products such as plastic wall cladding. The origins of the design of plastic wall cladding can clearly be seen in the traditional shape of shiplap wood, and yet the design of plastic cladding sections has clearly evolved beyond the simple shape of wooden shiplap.

The intricate shapes of the joining sections provide firm joins and the weight difference when plastic cladding is compared to wooden cladding is very significant. It is fair to acknowledge that the weight of heavier cladding materials is unlikely to be of detriment to a building itself. However, for the process of actually fitting the plastic cladding, the weight makes a significant difference to the ease of fitting and the robustness of fittings required.

Once in situ, plastic cladding should almost invariably last in place for longer than any alternative material. With its durability and UV resistance, it will not degrade noticeably over time. It will also maintain its appearance with very little effort spent beyond an occasional wipe down to remove built up residue. Plastic wall cladding is popular because it not only performs a function that can be achieved by others, it does it more effectively.
