Plastic Surgery Gains Popularity In Urban Centres

More and more city-dwelling Canadians are drawn to plastic surgery procedures as

a way of maintaining and enhancing their appearances in a competitive economy. Men and women alike are seeking out the help of trained surgeons to give them an edge with a younger, healthier appearance as they compete for jobs, spouses and even real estate.

Once a domain reserved for the wealthy or for those who had been injured in an accident, plastic surgery is now becoming mainstream in cities such as Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. Reports suggest that about 70% of Canadian consumers admit to being concerned about aging while about 30% say they are self-conscious about the effects of aging.

In addition, more Canadians report that they feel pressure to maintain a more youthful appearance as they age in order to remain competitive in the workplace. While at one time many people acknowledged feeling hesitant about receiving a cosmetic procedure, close to 50% now say they would consider surgery in order to change something about their appearance. The vast majority of consumers suggest they would like to treat wrinkles.

Such shifts in attitude toward cosmetic procedures run alongside an increased level of satisfaction among those who have undergone procedures. Studies highlight that about 80% of Canadians who have undergone a procedure report being satisfied with care they received. In addition, about 55% were satisfied with the effects of the procedure.

Among the surgeries being carried out, the primary area of dissatisfaction among patients is the face. Reports indicate that about 60% of Canadians considering cosmetic surgery are concerned about facial volume loss. With more and more people leaving rural areas to live in city-centers, it is not surprising that the popularity of these procedures is concentrated in urban areas. Toronto Liposuction is particularly popular.

Liposuction, which sculpts the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, has helped a number of Canadians reshape problem areas including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck.

It is not surprising that Toronto Liposuction has gained such popularity considering that Toronto is the countrys largest urban center and most competitive economy. In order to be successful in Toronto and make enough money to be able to afford to live in such a large city, more people are feeling the pressure to maintain a healthy, strong-looking and youthful appearance.

Similar patterns are being observed in Vancouver and Montreal.
