Plastic Surgery Overseas - A Viable Option?

With plastic surgery gaining in popularity over the past years

, all sorts of options have come to the forefront. Because pricing has always been out of reach for most people, many surgical patients have chosen to head out of the US to take advantage of plastic surgery overseas.

How smart a choice is this? If you can't afford a $7,000 surgery in Manhattan, should your only other option be to have the surgery in perhaps a small clinic in Costa Rica? Should you even expect a successful surgery with equal results?

Many patients say yes. And many others have been disfigured, disappointed, and have even died from overpowering infections that should never have occurred and could have been readily treated. Others die from poorly administered anesthesia performed by individuals who have never been trained in administering anesthesia. Considering that all plastic surgery is done under general anesthesia, this is indeed a serious concern for anyone opting for any type of plastic surgery Columbia outside of the US.

Many past patients talk about how wonderful they look, how great the doctors were, and they have plans to go back for further "work". However, this doesn't seem to dissuade thousands and thousands of people, men and women alike, who travel to South America, Mexico, India, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and even Cuba to have face lifts, breast augmentation, nose jobs, liposuction, tummy tucks and more. All procedures that carry a high level of risk!

Post surgery is important as well. You may have the option of staying in a clinic overnight, but usually that's worse than staying in a hotel room. Either way, if you have an emergency later on, this is when you find out how poor their medical emergency infrastructure has developed. You could die before an ambulance reaches you.
