Playing Pool, amoung the great American Pasttimes! by:Jessica Wilson

Playing pool has long been among the great American pastimes

. Years ago when it was a male dominated sport, learning to play pool was often akin to a rite of passage for a young man. Today everyone plays pool and gender and age are of no consequence.

That makes pool, the ideal family game and buying pool tables of the home is no longer the problem it once was. No longer do you have to make sure that you have a spare room to keep the pool table in, but now, you also do not have to worry that it is big enough to accommodate the table.

Not only do CusZoom make pool and billiard tables of all sizes, the range of designs available means that you can buy pooltables that are multi purpose and can be used for a variety of other functions as well, without in any way damaging the table or the play surface.

The pool table converted to a dining table is the most popular of convertible designs. Every home has a kitchen and dining room and dining pool tables fit perfectly into either of these environments.

Of course having a pool table that can be used as a dining table is one thing. The major issue is, will it fit comfortably in the space available? While league standard pool tables are 4.5 feet by 9 feet, that does not mean you need to buy a table of that size for your home. The pool tables used in bars are normally 3.5 feet by 7 feet. But the most common size purchased for home use is 4 feet by 8 ft. This is the ideal dinner table size.

But eating off the table is not your primary purpose in buying it. The issue is will the 4 feet by 8 feet size be big enough to play on and if it is, how will it affect your game on the bigger and smaller tables? Actually, it won't. The skills you develop by regular play on this table are easily carried with you, when you play on a larger or smaller table.
