Playing the guitar online - Tips to get you started

There are many reasons why I could think of going online for my guitar lessons

. The most obvious one is the cost factor. Way cheaper to have your guitar lessons than if you have a live tutor teach you the guitar secrets. Some other hidden costs may include the cost of gasoline that you will need to taker you over to the site of learning. In the case of the online learning, you just do everything from the comfort of your bedroom. I hope I have been able to convince you to sample the online option. I know you are probably thinking, "okay, and okay. I now know the best way to go about gaining guitar knowledge. Now what?"

The first big step in the right direction will be for you to get a guitar. Since there is a real problem of getting a guitar you might not find suitable, I suggest you borrow one for your learning until you have had a feel for what you will like. For beginners, I usually recommend an acoustic guitar, even if you might be considering an electric guitar in the future. The reason for this is that the acoustic guitar has easy sounds, and is easier to handle and understand. However, my opinion is relative, since there are some electric guitars that can be simulated to produce acoustic sounding notes when put on the right amplification and with the right pedals. So I guess, the choice is very much up to you. Have a feel for the size you want; some thing medium, not too much on the n=big side, and not too tiny either.

The next thing is to begin to condition your fingertips for the stress that is to come. Over the course of your learning, you are going to have some really sore fingers to testify to your learning. It might slow you down for a while, but you should note that your finger will develop their own form of immunity - calluses to be precise - as you play some more. If you are not impatient enough to wait for nature to take its course, you should just speed things up be using wood spirit on your finger tips before playing. The dryness will make you have the calluses faster.

Next thing is to get you some nice guitar straps that will help you in holding the guitar when you are moving or when you are playing. A guitar strap that doesn't fit might make you a bit uncomfortable and has a way of tampering with your concentration.

Finally, to get the fair sense of timing is quite hard at first. You could get a metronome which will help you discipline your mind so that you have s=as sense of timing of the n=musical notes you will be playing. The ticks and tocks of the metronome will condition your mind until you no longer have to use the metronome for your performance.
