Pmp Certification Examination - The Eligibility Criterion

The PMP certification exam provided by the Project Management Institute (PMI) is

very much in demand among employers and project managers throughout the world. It is estimated that today there are over 100,000 PMP-certified project managers around the world. In order to obtain PMP certification, an individual has to satisfy certain educational and experiential criterion, agree as well as adhere to a Code of Professional Conduct and finally, pass the PMP Certification Examination.




Prior experience required to meet PMP Certification requirements

The candidate/applicant is required to have a minimum proven experience of three to five years in project management. Applicants also will have to put in 35 hours of training.




PMP Certification Examination

The PMP certification examination comprises a total of two hundred multiple choice questions. These questions cover the six performance domains which constitute the PMP examination specification. The six performance domains in the PMP exam include: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and controlling, Closing and Professional and social responsibility. Each question will be drawn from one of the six domains. The questions in the test also contain references to project management books especially the PMBOK Guide, or PMI: A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
