Ok guys, many of you have witnessed it firsthand or if youre lucky youve only heard the horror stories from your friends
. Its the beast of burden, that monthly run and hide feeling you have when your woman is PMSing. Instead of ducking and running in the opposite direction, here are some ways that you can keep your sanity when you woman turns into the wicked witch of the west.
Never assume that a girl is in this situation unless you are completely sure, as it is really offensive and the mere insinuation will probably make the fallout worsefor you. Some men are good at being sympathetic at 'that time of the month'. Women will generally assume the position that a man cannot possibly know what theyre going through since theyre not going through it. This is true. Try instead to be supportive and perhaps suggest to her something that she could do that she enjoys to do, i.e. read a book, relax with a movie while you do a load of laundry to help. That will give you the space after the load of laundry is done that you need to deal and diffuse a difficult situation as well as showing your support.
Acknowledge that you cannot control the situation no matter what you do. Mood swings of women in this situation are not necessarily under their control. Knowing this, and understanding that it will happen one way or another is your best strategy.
Try not to antagonize her. This may be easier said than done, but avoid getting into arguments, it will only make it harder to deal with for both of you. At another point in time, discuss with her how you love her and want to help her through these times. Let her know that her health is important to you and talk about medical and naturopathic options which might help take the edge off of some of the symptoms.
Remind yourself that contrary to the popular media hype on the television that there is no having a happy period and that she probably isnt enjoying it either. Treat her with a firm, gentle strength and try not to lose your cool. Your lady will feel your support and react less violently when not forced into a confrontational state.
Try not to cry the blues when your gal is coming unglued from PMS, there are solutions. Many women noticed remarkable lessening of their symptoms when regular exercise was brought into their daily regime. Suggest a walk together after dinner or join a gym together. She will know by these actions that you are looking into solutions that are good for both you and her.
