There are a huge amount of differences between how you should approach your game of poker within a live environment and playing a poker game online.
Playing online poker strategy during a live situation will result in you being unable to compete with your opponents at the table as they would be more competent within their strategy than you would be, leaving you with an uphill struggle to get a harness on the game.
Alternatively, playing live poker strategy while playing poker online would result in you freely allowing your opponents to seemingly out play you as they make moves to steal chips that they wouldn't do within a face to face situation.
Getting your playing style just right and learning when to switch from one approach to the other is vital if you are going to look to play both in both styles.
Live poker strategy is developed from your own personal preference and knowledge base, meaning that to alter the way in which you play the game, you have to read books and practise what you are learning over a period of time before it becomes safe to be able to exercise your newly learn skill.
Online poker strategy is a little more relaxed than live poker strategy, simply because you are not sitting face to face with your opponents, meaning that they are unable to see those tell tale signs that show you are uncomfortable with the method of play that you have just used.
