Popular Engagement Ring Trends by:Andy Moquin
Some engagement ring fashions may come and go
Some engagement ring fashions may come and go. Other engagement ring styles just keep getting better and better. These are the current engagement ring trends which are all great examples of designs and ideas being constantly improved. Why not incorporate several concepts into your own engagement ring?
Colored Diamonds. Mariah Carey has one. So does Heidi Klum. Colored diamond engagement rings are definitely on the increase. A colored diamond can be used as a stand-alone eye catching piece, as in Heidi's yellow diamond. Alternatively colored diamonds can be used to add color or a whole theme, as in Mariah Carey's pink diamond engagement ring. Colored diamonds share the hardness of white diamonds, making them an ideal way to add enduring and hard wearing color to an engagement ring. Fancy colored diamonds can include pinks, yellows, and greens. Black diamonds can be a cost effective way to add drama to an engagement ring.
Bling. Another very popular engagement ring trend is to cover the entire visible surface of the engagement ring with smaller diamonds. Pave settings and channel settings are two popular ways of achieving this. The end result is a stunningly sparkling engagement ring. The addition of extra diamonds can be a great way to visually increase the size of a smaller center stone.
Vintage Revisited. Square set diamonds are strongly reminiscent of vintage engagement rings. Asscher cut diamonds are very popular right now, and we need look no further than Jessica Alba and Ashlee Simpson Wentz to see two fantastic examples of a modern take of a vintage design.
Conflict Free Diamonds. More couples are wanting conflict free diamonds for their engagement rings. Conflict free diamonds, sometimes referred to as blood diamonds, are not financing wars or terrorism. Conflict free diamonds have not been mined or manufactured employing child abuse. These diamonds have been mined in an environmentally responsible manner. Conflict free diamonds are available from many nations including Canada, Australia, Russia, South Africa, and Tanzania, to mention just some. It is pleasing to note that 99% of the diamonds on today's market are now conflict free. For those concerned about this issue, documentation should be produced tracking the diamond's journey.
Intricate Settings. Engagement ring settings are now works of art on their own. We are seeing raised settings that may incorporate shapes such as hearts, bows, flowers, and scrolls, holding the center stone up. Intricate settings add enormous visual appeal to any engagement ring.
These engagement ring trends are all going to stand the tests of time and changing tastes.
