Portable Air Conditioners Can Help Those Who Suffer From Asthma
People naturally cool themselves through the evaporation of perspiration from the skin
, but in hot weather air conditioning provides drier air, this of course gives improved comfort. And for some portable air conditioners is the answer.
Portable air conditioners can help those who suffer from asthma and allergies, simply because these conditioners provide cool air inside, allowing windows and doors to remain closed preventing exposure to outside triggers such as air pollution, pollen and mould spores, which can cause allergic reactions.
Portable air conditioning units in fact any air conditioning unit lowers humidity levels indoors which help to control mould and dust mite populations, furthermore air conditioned environments prolong the lifetime of equipment in your home or workplace.
The layman often wonders just how an air conditioner works, well there are plenty of different air conditioners to choose from, they come in various sizes, cooling capacities and prices, of course there is a portable air conditioner, split portables, window air conditioners, condensing units on the roofs, and fully integrated air conditioning systems, and all work on the same principle.
Most homeowners invest in portable air conditioning, simply because it cuts down the costs, furthermore the running costs are much more cost effective. The way these units work is they simply remove hot and damp air from indoors and transfers it outdoors via a hose, it is similar to a tumble dryer hose and has to be vented to the outside, ideally through a small venting hole made in the wall or window.
Hot air from a room is drawn by a fan into the air conditioner, and passes over an evaporator coil, this contains refrigerant. The refrigerant is pushed around the air conditioner by the compressor, and because the refrigerant is very cold it absorbs the excess heat from the air.
The cooled air is then pushed out through the front air vents back into the room. The absorbed heat in the refrigerant is transferred to a condensing (hot) coil; this causes the refrigerant to release its heat. This heat is then discharged from the room, either to a second section (split units) or directly into the outside air, thus the cycle then starts again, and keeps the room at the required temperature.
When looking to purchase a portable air conditioner this summer the consumer needs to check out the BTUs and EERs. The higher the BTU value, the stronger the air conditioner is, obviously the smaller the room the fewer BTUs needed, also check out the EER number for each unit. EER stands for Energy Efficiency Ratio and is measured in accordance with the Energy information (Household Air Conditioners) Regulations 2005.
A spokesman for Climachill located on the South coast of the UK said consumers do not have to worry about BTUs and EERs we are a professional company and can give customers all the information they will need to make sure they choose a unit fit for purpose in their home or office. We have a great selection of units and have slashed the price on many models, go online and check out exactly what is on offer.
