Portable Potty Seats For Mobile Toddlers

With their disposable, biodegradable bags, portable potty seats are the answer to every toilet training parents' prayers

. The frame has two legs that can be pulled out to make a secure seat at just the right height for most toddler bottoms and then fold in again to become flat enough to fit into any parents' bag. They make going out whilst toilet training a far less fraught expedition.

They're great for potty training help too as many are designed to fit inside the main adult toilet seat so that small people can sit comfortably. But it's more than that, my son often insisted on using it at home too because, in the beginning, he didn't like the big open space underneath the adult toilet seat - even when we used the portable potty seat as an insert.

I can well remember a situation where such a device would have been very welcome with my older children. We had gone to view a car that we were planning to buy. My daughter was in the early stages of potty training but doing extremely well with no accidents at all.

However, on this occasion, she announced that she needed to poop just as we were sitting in the car. She got up and, as I was trying to get her out of the car, suddenly realised that it was too late and I found myself frantically trying to pick up several small 'maltesers' from the foot well before the owner noticed.

Travel potty chairs are not just for those times when your little one gets caught short though. In my childhood, we always drove to our holiday desitnation. I was, invariably, travel sick and we kept a yellow plastic pot in the back of the car for such eventualities. When I had made my deposit, the family would have to put up with the stench of the pot's contents as it slopped about until we reached the next lay-by and could dispose of it.

If you keep one in the car, it can be used as a car potty with any malodorous mishaps neatly enclosed in the sealed bag until they can be discarded.
