Possible Ways To Split Outlook Pst

The need to reduce the size of Outlook database occurs when Outlook starts performing due to heavy Outlook data file (.pst)

. Personal Storage Table file (.pst) of Outlook becomes heavy in size due to larger no. of emails and the best possible solution to reduce the size of Outlook database is, delete unwanted or old emails. If you have a very large database then, finding and deleting unwanted emails is not an easy task for you, you need to look for something quick and comfortable say splitting of Outlook database.

Move Unwanted or old Emails to other PST file- You can use the archive feature of Outlook to split Outlook PST file. With this feature, you can move old emails into a separate PST file. This archiving feature is good but, you cannot say it's the best solution to split heavy Outlook database.

File Menu>> Archive option>> Select Outlook database folder, which want to archive >> Choose date >> click Ok and do archiving successfully.

Go to File Menu>> Put cursor on New>>Choose Outlook data file option from the bottom>>Select Outlook edition>>choose the name of PST file and Create

How to Move items into a newly created PST file?

Now if a new PST file has been created, the point comes at how to move the items of an Outlook folder into a new PST file.

Go to Edit Menu>>Select Move to Folder option >> In dialog box, click on new>> create new folder >> select the location of that folder to new PST file >> click ok and move all items to new PST file.
