Post-Graduation Getaway To Melbourne, A Major Treat

I was president of my class during senior year. It was a very hectic year filled with busy days, while everyone worked double time to comply with their requirements, and studied harder for the final exams. We were all looking to a great milestone; graduation. Not only that, but our class also had big plans for a graduation treat. We were going to Melbourne, Australia. At the start of the year, we started saving up for this trip. It was a difficult choice between Queensland, South Whales and Melbourne, but eventually settled on Melbourne.

Australiais one of the world's biggest countries, offering the most extraordinary escapades. Often it's identified as a trend setter. It's a place of extreme adventure, great food and wines, and of course, stunning landscapes. It's also home of amazing festivals, art exhibits and wonderful music. We chose Melbourne because it has something to offer everyone. From family packages, local and international art, various shopping centers, multicultural dining, onlooker sports plus a vivacious night life. For us, it was definitely something to look forward to.

As class president, it was mainly my responsibility to make this trip possible. So, a month before the big day, I contacted a travel agency to check out their packages and travel deals. Making a reservation ahead of time makes a big difference in getting cheap tickets. After a few calls, I finally found the perfect deal. The package included air fare, hotel accommodation, food, and a guided tour for a group of 150 people. It was perfect and certainly within our budget.

And with that, we were all set. Immediately after graduation, we packed up and headed to our great adventure. This was a well deserved treat for all of us, and a trip that we would remember forever. This was our time to just have fun and relax in one of the world's most popular destination. Extreme sports, surf, shopping and beautiful beaches were waiting. Some were making plans to go swimming, snorkeling and diving while others preferred a quite tour of museums and historical landmarks. And we were also hoping to see Australia's wildlifelike kangaroos, koalas, kiwis, duck-billed platypus and emus.

You can sense everyone's excitement and anticipation when we arrived at around noon. Then just as everyone was settling down, I made a big announcement. I had arranged for a great party with the travel agency to start off our vacation. This was met with applause, loud yells and an overall approval from my classmates. Everything was working out perfectly.

Somehow the trip changed us; our ideals and our outlook of the future. We learned to be proactive, and that we should enjoy life. It was a wonderful memory that strengthened our bond and friendship.
